QUADROPHENIA-well almost....

Neil really did do a stint in the movies.....he played several parts ...milkman....pizza delivery boy....plumber....i mean they must have been good as they were on all the top shelves in the video shops...but his big break came when he got the part of jimmy in the remake of QUADROPHENIA ....this film was entitled ...QUADRIPLEGIC....a story of wheelchair bound mods who had previously all crashed their vespas exceeding speeds of 15-20 miles per hour....they would hang out in cafe's with ramps ....high on DF118...and cause unrest with the locals...and rival gangs of mods and rockers in wheelchairs....of course the scene at brighton promenade ...where sting plays ace face this time he plays ace wheels ....and another star of the original...leslie ash who this time plays a dead fish on the beach for obvious reasons....the fight scenes were brilliant lots of wheelchairs clashing.......the background music in this scene was of course wheels of steel.....other tracks include steelers wheels (stuck in the wheelchair with you)...i could go on and get really cheesy here but i wont.....then we have the scene at the end where jimmy(neil)...finds his idol ace wheels is nothing more than a rent boy touting for business outside the bent wheels pub in soho....furious at his former idol he screams "rent boy"!! and steals ace's wheelchair....makes his way to the white cliffs of dover...ok it took him 3 weeks to get there...and promptly sends himself off the edge of the cliff in the wheelchair......its ok though they used a body double for this scene ...keith chegwin......so thats why we havent seen him since his disastrous naked tv stint....this film ended up in the bargin basment ....but it will earn cult status one day trust me!.....
