So sorry stuff's so messed up inside your computer! Even more sorry that as a Mac user I don't know the difference between NT, XP, 95, 98, Service Packs and what more have you.
Maybe I should stop writing no to leave some room for knowledgeable feeks, gooks, folks.

Oh and thanks for your comment on the manhole covers, I agree they are an artform.

Ok. Let's try. What OS you using? Windows XP?

it's my experience that it is there somewhere and should be recoverable.

You tried resetting it to an earlier date? Say a day before you lost it?

Checked your recycle bin?

Yeah i know these are obvios but i'm an obvious type of guy, right? that's why i come here.

Gypsy,
email me with your specific problems and I'll pass along your email to the resident housegeek. Austin is a software designer and knows his way around the infernal machines. He might be able to offer suggestions.

I will cringe if I heard the crash of your Windows going through your window...

I'm of no help as I am the farthest thing from a geek... it took me forever to figure out this blog thing!

Now if a computer came with 4 legs a mane and a tail I might be able to steer you in the right direction...

Good luck with your tirals and tribulations girl. I'm at a total loss around the computer, which is why I usually like to acquaint myself with geeks. Unlike the eraly version what geeks used to be, geeks these days are a creative bunch that hold valuable knowledge between their ears.

I get the gobbledegook-in-the-eye syndrome just from 'thinking' about doing something other than what I'm accustomed to on the computer - it took me 7 months to post blog photos. Good luck.

Gypsy - As someone who has not even ATTEMPTED to put a single photo on her own blog, I am not in a position to offer advice - but I can't believe you can make your blog look this good yet not know what the hell you're doing!

How do you lose a C Drive? Has it left the building as some form of protest over the way you've been abusing it? Hey - it's not MI5 doing a censorship thing is it? Maybe they think you're a threat to National Security. Have you heard funny clicking noises on your phone yet? CHECK!!!

Sorry not to be of any practical use. I rarely am.

Hi Gypsy,

I feel your pain. I've been through a complete computer meltdown where we've actually had to go out and buy a new one that evening. Disasterous!! I'm sorry that I have no help to offer you...frankly, I wouldn't have even thought of the restore thing you did by myself! I am computer saavy, but only when it comes to operating things, changing things, not retrieving things.....

I hope your computer recovers from its hangover soon!!

Hi gypsy,
I'm so sorry that you're going through this! I know how you feel, once my computer had so many worm viruses that when I tried to restore it to an earlier date, I got a white screen. I had no choice but to restore the whole computer back to the original factory settings using the restore CD that had came with the computer. You might have to do that, unfortunately you will lose everything you have added to the computer, all the pictures, music files, and software that was installed by you. But restoring it back to the factory settings might enable it to rip and burn CDs again. Or it would probably be better if you take it to a computer repair shop and they might be able to fix the C Drive without wiping out the whole computer.

Good Luck!
