Oh thanks Gyspy now MY mascara is running!
It's a snowy day here on the mountain too. As I took a turn I ran over a curb taking my son to school. Right before, I said I was taking the car in for repair. As we went over the cub, hitting a yield sign my son says - now we really need to go to Subaru for repair!... we just laughed and went on! Little ones have a way of brightening the day!
Sniff....so sad.....so beautiful in all its black and white derelcité atmosphere...what a film!
great clip, and great music too, Gypsy
Now what's this I hear about leather on willow being filth, hey? That's just not cricket! Anyway, Willow was one of my favourite fantasy movies, and there's nothing perve about that...lol...not even the fact that it's fantasy ;-)
Oooooh, young Larry O was lush, wasn't he? Love Kate Boosh. Mad and wonderful.
Val, sorry about the lather/willow smut. Gypsy's fault, natch. I don't know the "Willow" film, but I am sure it's lovely and wholesome and completely devoid of double-entendre. Me, I'm a Railway Children fan myself. Sweetness and light.
oh alecia as long as you were both alright!..i backed my car in to a street sign once, i saw my old aunt at the bus stop and was going to offer her a lift..but then i had to put my foot down and do a runner..i hope she didnt see me as she would think i was doing one from her...
val!!! you fancy what was a 6ft man squashed in to a 4ft midget now thats ultra weird..and you and margie have brought your willow and leather filth to my abode...well really!!!..
actually i had a shock today when i got up early this afternoon..i went to brush my teeth and tongue (as you do)..and i noticed my tongue was BLACK!!...total inward freak...all day ive been thinking this is it im dying 'again'..so i wrote my last will and testament on the back of a match box..and accepted my fate...then i freaked some more and pondered my life ..scrubbed my tongue till it frade..then i remembered id started taking my tonic today ..and had a scout on das net and heyho!!..black tongue is NOT..harmfull..im not dying of that anyway..hmm but i did tell the next door neighbour what i thought of them and their screeming off spring thinking i wasn't going to be around..ill have to hide awhile..you know i had left you all a piece of my blog in my will...i know..i know im too kind..
Wuthering Heights, one of my favourite movies!
I'll take Ken back if he doesn't sell on ebay!
That must be some tonic! I keep tellin ya to lay off the bats blood!
I can't listen to that song anymore without thinking of Rachel doing her mock-up when she starts playing keyboards.
Cool video/audio combo though.

~Lace~
Gypsy your nightmares are catching. I had two kittens on my pillow last night, calling "Mummy" in really deep voices. Fair turned me up it did.
Oi! I've just been over to Dale's and I want it on record that I have NEVER lusted after dwarves. I cannot speak for our Val.
Mind you, digressing from kiddylit fantasy into the real world (well, Queensland, anyway), in the far North they have only recently banned dwarf-throwing competitions (or "chucking the midget" as my terribly P-C then 7 yr-old once called it.) Apparently this was a featured event at some country shows. Hmmmm!
But now you mention it, there is a really cool little person who lives quite near here and rides a custom-built mini-Harley in full leathers. The girls call him "The Dude". Ain't nobody throwin' him anywhere ...
yay! lace you wont have to crank it up no more...
margie..kitties with deep voices..hmm i wonder what sigmund woulds make of that one??..
well i think val would have something to say about tossing dwarfs..yes i meant tossing lets not get rude here..or was that me..ill shut up now..
Gypsy!!!!! I NEVER even hinted at the word lust!! That's sooooooo not fair!!!
Margie asked who WAS Willow, not who DID Willow, or even who THWACKED Willow.....well, I supoose that could be a bit suspect...hmmm....anyway..back to my gripe...It were'nt nuffink I said...
Margie, 'dwarf throwing'? That's nearly as bad as our zwarten pieten here. Mind you they're not banned, and are still merrily roaming the streets as the the servants of Sintaklaas...I love the way the Dutch have given the finger to all the PC activists and just carried on with their centuries old tradition..
There, Gypsy, see how easy it is to change the subject?...ROFL
BTW, Maybe your tongue's spent too much time in your cheek, Gypsy..;-)
val said... Anyway, Willow was one of my favourite fantasy movies, and there's nothing perve about that...lol...not even the fact that it's fantasy ;-)
erhum!...i think the evidence speaks for its self..
I love Kate!
What a beautiful piece - video and sound...
I have tears in my eyes.
Oh, to love someone and not be able to have them...
... my computer is slowing down and my life is speeding up - I'm on the computer at work in order to see this.
oh she can have him dale its just her wanting linton because she thinks she wants the finer things in life but her heart belongs to heathcliffe he marries lintons sister to spite cathy but their love is undying and they are together forever in death..ahh bless..tis a cruel love story..
very cruel indeed.
Thanks for Ken and Barbie's clothes too? What will she wear?!
LACE - I could have sworn you wrote
oh hey.. im getting lsd!!!! ...you naughty girl - I am completely shocked!
that my brain would read it that way!
...there goes bambi again in swirling technacolor rainbows. HeHe
oh
... are there deer on mushrooms about?
Yep... had to go and buy it on ebay. Said hi to Ken, he wants to know if he can get dressed now
Holy cow - did you see this version of WH?...
Fiennes and Blanchett
What a trip love is!
...not the lsd !!! - the original WH! lol
wow! thanks for that alecia...yes ive seen every version and the newer they are, the darker it gets..ralf fiennes does make a rather dashing heathcliffe and juliette binche cathy..also timothy dalton did a rather dashing version of heathcliff too..
The brother-sister relationship between Heathcliff and Cathy (who are brought up together) is reminiscent of the brother-sister-couples in Byron's epics (together with the idea of a shared identity, as expressed in the famous "I am Heathcliff!...
tell ken i wont ever forgive him for the swinger party incident when he chucked action mans jeep keys onto the table it was most embarrassing...
barbie is now wearing kens clothes she has joined the greenham common womans activist group aand declared herself a man hating dyke...
alcecia have you been eating any strange mushrooms of late say with little yellow spots on them?...
juliette binoche, that's right... had to buy that one too.
Well as long as everyone is truely happy - that's all that matters.
I've noticed ones with blue stripes but not yellow spotted tops, they must be Bambi's. Disney was a mad hatter you know.
poor bambi..murdered his mum in cold blood while he was off his face...
Ah, glorious black and white ... works well for movies and Blogger image icons too!
its a real boy Gypsy!!!... what do we do with him?
bad, bad - naughty zoot, you'll scare him away!
he's real alright..you should see what he can do with tight spandex and a watering can..the boy is a sexual deviant..but i think thats what attracted me to him in the first place..
Hmmmm...'men in tights'...now there was a movie....even better than dwarfs in tights..lol. don't know about the watering can bit unless it's to cool yourself down ;-)
oh ha ha yes robin hood and his merry men in tights ..oooh! i say..
dont ask about the watering can its to filthy even for here..
Ha Ha Ha... everyone!
One does not need to do mushrooms nor LSD!
Just read the comments on this post and it conjures up images that are better than that!
How did we go from Kate, Cathy and Heathcliffe to this?
I've had my head in the sand for the last week.
LOL
..lol... Dale that is funny!
In all seriousness, as you know I've been pondering the nature of love for some time... that's what lead to 'Ages of Love' which I began to compile 10 years ago.
Wuthering Heights is such a perfect example of the contrast between the egoic self and what love really is. Love actually has no opposites. It is always there... that is a bittersweet quality to the nature of love, when one can see the dramas of life. It is the mind which seeks to control the hearts true desire. This is illustrated in Kate Bush's lyric...
You had a temper like my jealousy
Too hot, too greedy.
How could you leave me,
When I needed to possess you
I hated you. I loved you, too.
That last line simply illustrates the struggle between the mind and heart. For the heart can't hate, but the mind can.
Someone once said the greatest distance mankind will ever travel is the space between the mind and heart.
It's not really true that love is cruel, but the feeling of seperation by death or inventions of the mind are! - leaving you to only feel its dark cold pain. In the heart there is always light and it can't be taken away unless you let it, for Love is eternal.
Like Heathcliff if it should be his will that he be haunted for the rest of his life, then that is his choice to experience. It is an act of love for Kathy to not leave his side even after death, but also a metaphor for all that we have ever loved is ours to keep forever.
Heavy stuff but I hope that some part of this would help you as much as it helps me to cope in this life.

Thanks for the post Gypsy - I needed it to help me summarize, hope I can get another story written by years end. All of these clips helped me get a few things together. Get the tissues out, there's gonna be a flood!
Love Realized
Egos Fall = Love Shared
Pain & Separation
More Pain & Separation
Excruciating More Pain & Separation
Love is Eternal
If the first link does not work - cut and paste this one...

I love this clip as she expresses the difference in the way she loves Linton vs. heathcliff - its absolutely beautiful!
Ok, now back to cleaning dishes and scrubbing toilets I go!
dale your right we got side tracked as usual..
thankyou for that alecia..its a very interesting aspect lovely infact..
but now you have got me pondering..
who or what decided that the heart (which after all is a vital organ that serves a purpose like a pump to keep the system going, a part of a machine 'us')..was where love is?..i mean is not the mind where every thought and feeling comes from..it is the most powerful tool we possess..it governs every way we feel..
sending signals to the body like hunger..anxiety..love..hate..pain..
desire et cetera..and when we die our heart being a physical organ dies with us ...but the mind being invisible like our thoughts ...no one can see them..that surley is the thing that lives on its the centre of our spirit..so maybe love is a force from the mind and spirit which the body only experiences on loan like..because you feel it in every part of the physical body not just the heart infact the heart only beats slower or faster..people always direct love to the heart but it effects all our organs..there is a theory that being in love is actually a mental illness..this could be true..of course like everything these range from extreme to mild..but you know when some people are in love they can experience feelings of euphoria/not eating or sleeping/obsession/jealousy/.and on..sometimes pleasant sometimes not..depending on the situation..so i tend not to associate the heart with love its something we can feel but we cant hold it..its a force..i could ramble on but i wont ..its just my way of thinking..
and thankyou for those clips a million i loved watching them..
oh i didnt cry..my eye was leaking..
oh and btw..
I AM HEATHCLIFFE..

this is my favourite line from the original film...
If he loved you with all the power of his soul for a whole lifetime he couldn't love you as much as I do in a single day. Not he. Not the world. Not even you, Cathy, can come between us. ...... You just want to send me off. That won't do. I've stayed here and been beaten like a dog. Abused and cursed and driven mad, but I stayed just to be near you. Even as a dog! And I'll stay till the end. I'll live and I'll die under this rock! ..... I want to crawl to her feet, whimper to be forgiven... for loving me. For needing her more than my own life... for belonging to her more than my own soul....Tell the dirty stable boy to let go of you. He soiled your pretty dress. But who soiled your heart? Not Heathcliff. Who turns you into a vain, cheap, worldly fool? Linton does. You'll never love him, but you'll let yourself be loved because it pleases your stupid, greedy vanity. ....My tears don't love you, Cathy. They blight and curse and damn you! Heathcliff, don't break my heart. Oh Cathy, I never broke your heart. You broke it! CATHY..
its our soul that gets broken..not our hearts...
That is grand dialogue isn't it? He's been wronged and has his own issues and she has hers - its still a game. Is it love when stripped down? Yes!
The heart and mind are organs but also serve as metaphor for the ego and soul. I interpret feelings in the realm of the heart, which is my center point connection to ALL that is. This place is also known as the sacred heart... not to be governed by religious doctrine - this is your true self... and it is invisible to the eye but not to your life's experience by all things good that you attract in your life. That is where your true desires are held and that is my experience.
You posted before I could read it... yes, but can the soul be broken? or is it the ego as it looses its hold for control?
My point is we are more resilliant than that. Yes, seperation is pain and more so beacuse we feel we will never love again. Is it true? No I don't think so. Because the love you felt with the other person was in fact coming from inside of you.
They inspired each other deeply, then got caught up in the game which they both lost only to find that love was there all along... just as it is with the egoic self vs. the conscious connection with ones soul.
The statement by Cathy... I Am Healthcliffe is deep in meaning as her love and his are truly One in Spirit.
ok.. back to toilets!
I was skiving earlier ;-)
i like the idea of a sacred heart because that makes it more spiritual than a mere body part..yes is it ego wanting control?..then where is the love?..
and love being spirit and soul makes it even bigger than you or i...more powerful..and thats what makes it last..till the end of time..if its true...
yes she feels ..as he feels each others pain..
i find a tortured soul the most beautiful of all...
... but the most painful to personally endure...
Wow. This is deep. For my two cents worth I think love is of the soul, which can be symbolized by the heart; but I think when two people meet, their souls know they will love before their minds (egos) do. Or if the mind knows in that moment, that is what is called 'love at first sight'.
Two souls in love are always moving towards each other. Only the ego can keep them apart - and only death can release the soul from ego...
BTW - The movie Willow is a wonderful classic fantasy. No smut....however, Val Kilmer is very hot as Madmartigan...yum
Digressing...
I have a hole in my soul....really must upgrade these 1999 Nike Air Max Classics :-P
