CHRISTMAS QUOTES...

A good conscience is a continual Christmas.
benjamin franklin us author, diplomat, inventor, physicist, politician, & printer (1706 - 1790)

A turkey never voted for an early Christmas.
irish proverb

Aren't we forgeting the true meaning of Christmas? You know, the birth of Santa.

At Christmas I no more desire a rose
Than wish a snow in May's new-fangled mirth;
But like of each thing that in season grows.
william shakespeare Love's Labour Lost Greatest English dramatist & poet (1564 - 1616)

Next to a circus there ain't nothing that packs up and tears out faster than the Christmas spirit. ..kin hubbard (1868 - 1930)

Dear Lord, I've been asked, nay commanded, to thank Thee for the Christmas turkey before us... a turkey which was no doubt a lively, intelligent bird... a social being... capable of actual affection... nuzzling its young with almost human- like compassion. Anyway, it's dead and we're gonna eat it. Please give our respects to its family...
Berke Breathed, Bloom County Babylon

Christmas is a holiday that persecutes the lonely, the frayed, and the rejected.....

The last quote made me think about priviledged we are, those of us who have family and loved ones to share this time with, and how hard it must be for the people who do not enjoy such a sweet life. It's indeed a tough time such people, and I hope somehow, a stranger's kindness crosses their path and brings them some of what we often take for granted.

I wish you peace and happiness and all the best for the New Year, my dear.

Love,
Anne-Marie

The third one and the last two - great for different reasons, but we should remember the last one most of all....the irony of Christmas is that it should be a time of joy, but for many it's the time to give up on life...

Lots of love and huddles from me to you Gypsy, and I hope the next year brings you the peace and happiness you so deserve xxx

Having spent many Christmases alone and away from family, I can relate to the feeling of being lost at this time of year.

I still made sure I had a tree with the odd gift to myself beneath it...

Hi Gypsy,
I know that not everyone has a wonderful Christmas, I was one of them two years ago. Did you see my toxic friend post? anyways, my friend had brainwashed me away from my family. I actually spent Christmas day at a hotel with other so-called friends. I'll never forget how upset and hurt my family was when my friend and I finally came home on Christmas night. Of course my friend didn't care, but I will always be haunted by that day.
BTW, that friend is gone now, I am not her friend anymore!
I will never spend a holiday without my family ever again! or I will call them if I have a real good excuse for not being able to make it.

I really hope you have a Happy Holidays and a Rockin' New Year!

New year is a chance to start fresh, so here's to new beginnings!

Thank goodness for the Christmas lights that are illuminated at this time of the season too. With the short days, it helps with the spirits for those who celebrate Christmas, however, it's a double blow for those shut-in, sick and alone.

Christmas blessings to everyone!

No, it was the solstice and the longest-darkest night of the year! Well actually pixies dance in the dark with glitter on, a bit of sparkle and long black boots!

Yes? See, I knew it.
