Hi Gypsy,
I paid hommage to her once in Paris-I think it was in Pere Lachaise Cemetery. She was foreign (greek heritage, I think) like so many of France's more "French" chanteurs (Aznavour, Vartan, Dalida, and Claude Francois just to name a few) and was indeed a gem.
Is Je Ne Regrette Rien the motto for 2007? Sounds good to me.
Cheers,
AM
wow!...i bet that was an experience..
its the secret of life to not regret anything..always look on the bright side of life...(whistle)...
thats always been my moto..
i dabble in melancholy too...its good for the soul...
Hi Gypsy,
Great video! If only we could say "I regret nothing" for every year we finish!
I like your New Year's posting before this one too. Some good wishes there...though instead of enough wealth to meet my needs, I'd like lots more of the stuff....*L*
Happy New Year!
Non, je ne regrette rien aussi.
I, too, will immerse myself in melancholy - if only to simply resurface once more into the light...
I will watch the video when I can see it at work.
A beautiful sentiment! Wishing you a wonderful new year Gypsy! .. fianlly got another post up - vids, pics and all. xx
Happy New Year, hope 2007 is a great one
xx Grace

Gypsy, I love those old songs!
Reminds me of the old 75 rpm vinyl that my folks listened to when I was young.
Elle est superbe!!! What a voice, what strength of emotion....
she is wonderful...
I find that Edith Piaff is France's version of America's Billy Holiday. When I lived in France I got to know her music quite well and couldn't help but notice the similarity between both singers.
Happy New Year (I'm starting mine off with a whopping cold and high fever - uck)
