THE GODS HAVE ROLLED THE DICE!...

YIPPEE!!!...
AFTER MUCH PULLING OF HAIR OUT.....i GOT THE KEYS TO MY NEW FLAT TODAY..AFTER MANY MONTHS OF BLOOD ,SWEAT ,TANTRUMS AND TEARS...
I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO LIVE ABOVE A SHOP..AND ITS ABOVE A CHINESE TAKE AWAY ( the golden flower) AND A SEWING SHOP CALLED THE REMNANT BAR...AHA HA! WELL THEY HAVE A REMNANT GYPSY LIVING UPSTAIRS NOW....ITS MASSIVE!!..LOADS OF SPACE AND LIGHT ITS GOT LOADS OF CHARACTER..ITS ROUND IN PLACES AS ITS ON A CORNER..I SHOULD BE IN, IN A FEW DAYS..BEEN PACKING STUFF..AND STUFF AND STUFF!..OH LORDY IM A BIT SCARED BUT EXCITED MAINLY..
SO HERES TO BETTER DAYS IN ME NEW ABODE..SO IN THE WORDS OF THAT GREAT WAR SONG...

Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye
Cheerio...here I go on my way...
Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye...
Not a tear, but a cheer, make it gay...
Give me a smile I can keep all the while...
In my heart while I'm away Till we meet once again you and I...
Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye...

THE GYPO HAS FOUND A ROAD...

That's so cool Gypsy! I'm so very happy for you - the keys to your own door ;-)

It sounds really great with its round walls, and being on a corner, you'll get light from both sides - how lovely!
Derelicté chic too, huh...trez romanteek

Hey! my flat's over a shop too....but not so appealing, though. It just sells stuff for loos and bathrooms...lol...at least I won't have to go far if my pipes leak, hey? If I ever live in it myself, that is!

Let us know when the house warming is!

I think this calls for a housewarming party, and given the weather around here, we'll take any warming we can get.

Do you hang kitchen witches for good luck there (and I mean the cloth ones, not real ones)? If so, let me know where I need to send you one.

Of course I am writing this from my cell on a computer I put together from smuggled ovaltine containers, spam cans and toenail clippings... the connection works only a few minutes a day as the mice keep taking away my foil gum wrappers I use to boost the internet signal... will persevere and await rescue...

Go You! (Oui, c'est moi, bet you'd given up on me, non?). Does the restaurant deliver, or do you need to go downstairs? If the mortgage ever gets too much, you can always offer to put an extra table or two in your front room for them - for a consideration. Perfect.

I am so envious. I haven't moved house for 18 years (never lived so long in one place and I'm going a little mad as a result). I just love that setting-up and playing house thing. Arrested development perhaps.

I expect to see fab derelicte photos soon, when I shall share your pleasure vicariously - and not for the first time.

Gypsy, s'meee Vallypee, so sorry to hear bout your ceiling, but you're right, just go for it and move in, and once the ceiling's done you won't look back. This flat and this move represent more than just a bit of plaster now doesn't it?

We're back online again, and I had the good news that Argie's bottom is just fine. Just needs a small sticky plaster on the rudder and a couple of other small jobs, but no worries, it's good for another six years now as long as I maintain it.

i'll be off line for a bit so don't you lot dare have a good time without me...if i come back and find you lot have been up to mischief i'll put you all in detention..(yes you as well anne marie, being a teacher is no excuse)..
so in the words of the terminalator.."ooh! me back"..or was it "i'll be back"..
cue the trumpet for the last post..du duuu duduudud du well you know the rest..

Alas for you, Gypsy, I am having a dull day at work, and I've been singing rubbish songs to myself to keep awake. Here is yours:

ODE TO GYPSY TOWERS(derelicte version of an old English folk song):

Gypsy’s roof is falling in, falling in, falling in
Gypsy’s roof is falling in, my dark lady

Build it up with lemon curd, lemon curd, lemon curd
Build it up with lemon curd,
Will it work?
Maybe.

Lemon curd will drip and flow, drip and flow, drip and flow
Something heavier’s the go,
P’raps old gravy?

Get some vintage shampain in, shampain in, shampain in
Get some vintage shampain in
Drink it down, baby.

Shampain sure will dull the pain, dull the pain, dull the pain
Til you wake and look again,
Insurance? No, ‘fraidy!

Hmmm - think we'd all be better off if I'd fallen asleep after all. Hope you're making progress, anyway.

Are you all right, Gypsy? We had a huge thunderstorm the night before last, and I woke up in the middle of a dream where you were trapped under a large pile of soggy plaster. No, really, I'm serious!

I know you warned us you'd be off-line for a while, but the broadband connection is a priority! (Mind you, if you haven't got it, you're not reading this, so it's an exercise in futility all round.)

The move went well apart from we lost Alfie for a day!!! But I managed to locate the duke under a pile of braken at the bottom of the garden and he was bunged straight into the cat carrier and shipped to the new Gyppo Towers with haste.

Her move went well I'm pleased to say and she's settling in great, her house is utterly fabulous she has it looking homely and chic already, I am very proud, I am round there tomorrow for soup and such so I will pass on all your good wishes.

But i'm sure she'll be back online soon enough with more interesting tales from her new abode.

Thanks all, chaz xx

That nourish new buds in spring
And despair you have left us
With no gypsy song to sing
Make haste and return to us
From your new derelicte pad
If you talk to us soon
We promise not to be sad!
