MARS CALLING EARTH!..
NOW YOU CAN DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN!!..
IT'S JUST A JUMP TO THE LEFT..
AND JUST A...OK YOU KNOW THE REST...HEHE!.
WELL, YOU KNOW, ANYTHING TO GET RID OF THAT CATS ARSE!..
I was getting rather fond of it actually, but the poor little thing's entitled to his dignity I suppose.
Time Warp - many memories of parties where it would have been more prudent to sit that one out, but I just can't resist. It nearly drives you in sa-a-a-a-a-ane you know. Sadly, I also do a mean Nutbush, and can even do the Macarena if pressed, but my heart's not in it. I had to learn that one to teach it to an entire primary school assembly when my girls were young enough to think it was cool. Thankfully, they have now grown up to prefer Frank-n-furter in his suspenders. I take my parenting seriously.
humming in my head, do the time warp again........french maid costume........Tim Curry made up.. We used to go, oh.... some time ago!, to the midnite showing of Rocky Horror, it would play forever at this one Theatre. A midnite showing of a movie now? No, not happening. Would have take an afternoon nap!!
Eeeeeek...how did I miss this??? Complacency, that's what it is...hmmm....must watch out. I checked your blog yesterday and I was still staring a up that cat's whotsits, so I never thought you would have sneaked a new one in...
Well, I suppose half the fun is in the antici-i-ipa-a-ation ;-)
Amazing how a photo full of fog and a few words can arouse such comments and memories...Margie!! The Macarena indeed...the shame....tut tut.
Like what String?..not the cats arse like MaryB suggests?..
Margie...thankgoodness you ditched the Macarena, your girls could have been scared for life!!.. But at least it wasn't AGADOO!.. Push pineapples shake the tree..ARGGGHHH!!!.. Stevie the Marshmallows are under close guard, No fear!!.. I know you are a big fan AM..But Rocky Horror never dates in my eye, you should have one of your partys with Rocky Horror as the theme!..ps..Kiss the Kittys what? i'm worried.. Grace, I could just see you as the maid Columbia!.. Val..antici------------pation!.. Oh bugga!, I'm going to have to post a vid..
I know I know Vally - what can I say? But Anne Marie's comment reminded me of those late-night screenings of Rocky Horror where the whole audience would come dressed up, and yell "Kick the typre!" and put up umbrellas and shoot water pistols into the air when Brad and Janet got out of the car in the rain, and ... well you had to be there.
Better still was the cinema where late every Friday night for many, many years they played The Blues Brothers, and seasoned members of the audience would get up in front of the screen to do the dances, all would be in costume, it was something you just had to do at least once. A bit obsessive for those who did it regularly, but what a great party.
As for the Macarena - I pogoed pretty well at one point - does that absolve me to some extent?
Margie, nice to know Rocky Horror had the same traditions all over the world! I had a lovely second hand tuxedo (penguin) jacket and used to get dressed up as a transylvanian for the midnight shows, pockets full of newspaper, confetti, toast, toilet paper, and old cards.
Thanks for the memories, Gypsy. That was a great time. And Tim Curry.... ah, quiveration. I do wonder what it says about me that I spent my teenage years hot for a drag queen (but the shoes!!!) and a lead singer prancing around in a ballet suit.
haha, I thought the vid wasn't thre when I last looked, and Gypsy? Are you questioning my rendition of antici....pation?? Well, your'e right dammit ;-)
I know AM it was soo decadent.. Oh kiss his nose, phew!.. Yes Chants you were weaned on Rocky.. we used to sing-along-a rocky.. Val I sneaked it in..and yes the antici----pation bit was chosen spesh for you..
So Gypsy we share parenting styles? Nice to see Chaz' nursery rhymes were similar to those our girls got. (Only kidding Val - they were a long way past nursery rhmye stage when I introduced Rocky Horror). Mind you, Emma's Grade One teacher told me she heard Em singing Monty Python's "Every Sperm is Sacred" at volume in the playgound once. I think she must have heard it from her room when Colin and I were watching Meaning of Life on video one night. That one called for some delicate parenting I can tell you.
Pity it wasn't a Catholic school - she'd have been made Head Girl instantly.
A-M, he is yummy, isn't he? Have you seen him lately? Fabulous actor, but rather more solid in build now. It happens. The girls wouldn't believe me at first when I told them it was the same guy.
So you were a regular participant in the Rocky nights? I'm impressed! No wonder your teenage taste in men was so ... eclectic.
Thanks for posting the clip Gypsy. I still get shivers when I see those shoes appear in the descending lift. Ooooer.
It's mad how you, Margie and AM, have pointed out the shoe in lift bit as that was the bit where Chantal and I would go "Oh no! here comes the stick shoe"!..lol. Margie, lol at.. Pity it wasn't a Catholic school - she'd have been made Head Girl instantly.

Sorry, should have proof-read - TYRE, of course, and any others I'd missed. You get the gist.
Margie Pogoing to the Macarene is pretty Radical!!..
